Cilantro-Lime Fried Shrimp

Marinating the shrimp makes up most of the prep time. (You will need a resealable plastic bag for this step.) Feel free to use fresh or thawed frozen shrimp for this recipe. These shrimp are excellent dipped in purchased or homemade cocktail sauce or Tartar sauce.

Yield: 4 servings
Prep Time: 40 minutes
Cooking Time: 10minutes

  • 1 pound raw large shrimp, peeled and deveined with tails on or o
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ cup all-purpose our
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Cooking oil spray

  3. In another small bowl, beat the egg.
  4. Place the bread crumbs in a third small bowl, season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
  5. Place the basket into the unit. Preheat the unit by selecting AIR FRY, setting the temperature to 400°F, and setting the time to 3 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin.
  6. Remove the shrimp from the plastic bag. Dip each in the our, the egg, and the bread crumbs to coat. Gently press the crumbs onto the shrimp.

  8. Select AIR FRY, set the temperature to 400°F, and set the time to 8 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin.
  9. After 4 minutes, remove the basket and ip the shrimp one at a time. Reinsert the basket to resume cooking.
  10. When the cooking is complete, the shrimp should be crisp. Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve with cocktail sauce.

INGREDIENT TIP: Don’t marinate the shrimp any longer than 30 minutes or they will be mushy.
PREPARATION TIP: If using frozen shrimp, place the shrimp in a large bowl of cold water to thaw. Allow the shrimp to soak for 15 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
